Nancy Lopus

Game Watching Coordinator

Game-watching Coordinator
Nancy teaches high school Marketing and Finance at Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest, NJ and has also been an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University where she earned her MA degree in secondary education. She began and advises a very successful DECA chapter at NV Demarest high school. DECA is a business club that competes internationally in marketing, hospitality and tourism, finance, management and administration. Nancy's classroom is filled Hokie spirit and loves being an ambassador for Virginia Tech. She remains an active life member of Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity and also continues to march in a Hokie football halftime show every year with the Marching Virginians Alumni Band. In her spare time she volunteers with the USCG Auxiliary and loves to race sailboats at the Lavallette Yacht Club where she is a past commodore.

Mark Maloney

Mark began his career with Eurest in 2000 as a Senior Vice President. A highly respected leader in the hospitality industry for more than 35 years, Mark has a reputation for building strong relationships, executing excellence and growing the business. His roots began in the kitchen at the age of 14 as a pot washer and then working in numerous culinary and service positions.

 

In his current President position in Eurest, Mark’s passion for innovation and care for others is tireless throughout the 500 Marketplaces in his half billion dollar Division with over 4,300 team members.

 

Mark graduated from Virginia Tech in 1982 and currently serves on the Pamplin College of Business and the Howard Feiertag Hospitality and Tourism Management Advisory Boards.

Trish Pescatore

Scholarship Chairperson

Trish currently serves as the Recruiting Senior Manager for the Accenture Northeast business. She is responsible for driving recruitment delivery leveraging innovative recruitment identification and attraction. Trish has more than 30 years of unique business experience. For the first half of her professional career she was an Accenture systems integration consultant. She successfully transitioned her client experience and business acumen to launch a career in the talent management arena. Trish has extensive experience in recruitment approaches and delivery of quality hires with a focus on value creation, innovation and process efficiency – including the establishment of recruitment shared services. She served seven years as Director, US Recruitment and Alumni Relations, where she led the hiring of over 50,000 talented employees to Accenture. During her tenure, Trish expanded and refined Accenture’s diversity hiring practices, new hire onboarding, integration, career services and alumni relations capabilities. Trish is on the board of the New Jersey Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and serves as Scholarship Chairperson. She is member of the Junior Achievement of New Jersey Central Board and actively volunteers in her community. Trish earned her undergraduate degree in Accounting Information Systems from Virginia Tech. She is married with two adult children.

Bruce Ciccone

Commander of Volunteer Forces

Bruce is the developer and organizer of the N.J. Virginia Tech volunteer builds at Habitat for Humanity. He was born and raised in NJ where he met and married his wife, Liz, a 1979 Pamplin College of Business graduate. They have 2 children, and his son has since graduated from Pamplin in 2013. Bruce serves on the Board of Directors of Paterson Habitat for Humanity. He is currently President of Prodigy Group International, a designer and manufacturer of merchandising displays and fixtures.​

Theda Blackwood

Welcome Picnic Chairperson

Theda's first career was launched in 2000 when she toured the United States in the Broadway Tour of Annie.   Theda toured with the 3rd National Tour as an orphan and Annie's understudy and then in 2001 landed the role of Annie in the 1st National Tour.  A 1989 graduate of Virginia Tech in Interior Design, a Tri Delta, and RA, Theda turned her creativity in another direction, and after working as a partner at an Architecture firm, and taking a few years off to have her 2 kids, she became a founding Executive Director for the Direct Sales Company, Southern Living at HOME.  In 2013 when it closed, Theda went to represent a jewelry designer, Sara Blaine,  alongside turning her creativity into other projects on the side.  Theda is married to Dave, a 1990 graduate and they have a Hokie Son, Class of 2019 and a daughter attending Virginia Tech as well in the class of 2021!   She is an enthusiastic Hokie and loves sharing her passion about VT with everyone she comes in contact with!

Joe Vacca

Treasurer

Joe graduated from Virginia Tech in 2012 with a major in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise and a minor in Spanish.  He started his professional career in Richmond, VA with Stryker Orthopedics as a Joint Replacement Sales Representative before moving to New Jersey taking on the role of Field Marketing Manager, overseeing the Southeast region of the US. Currently he is working as a Commercial Real Estate Advisor, Specializing in tenant representation office agency leasing. He lives in Long Branch, NJ with his wife, Kara, ( VT Class of 2012) and daughter, Sterling.

Kevin Finn, VT Class of '88.   Marketing Major.  Virginia Tech Soccer, Captain Junior and Senior year, German Club, RA, SAA, Virginia Tech Soccer Alum Committee, husband to Jeanne (VT Class of '89) father to Patrick (VT Class of '17), Brian, (ND Class of '20) and Kathleen ( Class of '24).
